An entire neighborhood is protesting because of limited access to one of the oldest community centers in Sofia. The dispute has been going on for years, and residents of the sq. Reduta claims that the current board of trustees is depriving them of access to the building, which is crumbling.

The management of the community center claims that this is not true and they are good owners.

The disgruntled insist on the intervention of the municipality and free access to the building.

It is about the community center "Otets Paisiy-1936".

"It has been locked up for more than 15 years from the current board of trustees occupying it. And it turned out that they were former soldiers," said a protester. "According to documents, this community center is brilliant, there is activity, work is boiling – extracurricular, out-of-community center. They get a subsidy. And as you can see, it is not open, it is not even swept away in front," a protester told Nova TV.

Doubts are that there are plans to destroy it, and in its place to build a block.

The mayor of "Slatina" Georgi Iliev said that this is impossible to happen because the terrain was donated to a community center.

"We are working to rebuild the building. There is a constructive investigation that has already been carried out. I am glad that the citizens are proactive," Iliev said.
