President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine could intervene militarily in hostilities on the territory of unrecognized Transnistria only at the request of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

The head of state said this at a press conference at the end of the summit of the European political community, informs the European Parliament.

Zelensky called rumors allegations that allegedly Kyiv is going to conduct unilateral actions in Transnistria.

"Ukraine can react and help only if there is a request from the authorities of the Republic of Moldova," he said

When asked whether there was such a request from the Moldovan authorities, Zelensky replied: "There was no request."

In addition, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine does not claim the territory of unrecognized Transnistria.

"They must unite with their state, with their history – that is, with Moldova," Zelensky said, adding that he had once been to the territory of Transnistria and was surprised that flags of Russia, not Moldova, were hung everywhere.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that on Thursday, June 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Moldova on an official visit.
