Director of the New Geopolitics Research Network Mykhailo Samus commented on the attack of unknown drones on Moscow. He stressed that it rather had a psychological effect and explained the problems of Russian air defense. The expert also predicted that the next attacks could be at night. The residences of Putin, Surovikin and other occupation generals could be hit.

He said this in an interview with TSN.ua.

Samus explained that drones are very difficult to detect at night, and therefore the attack on Moscow was rather psychological in nature.

"It seems to me that the action was rather psychological in nature. If these attacks were at night, we know from these "shaheds" that they are difficult to detect at night. There is no eye contact, and then a target that moves slowly but low and in the dark is very difficult to detect. We need special radars. The problem of modern air defense is that it was developed during the Cold War. Then the targets were different, standard - aircraft, cruise, ballistic missiles. But these were bigger targets, they had different characteristics, they flew higher, they had a different profile," he explained.

Samus stressed that small slow targets made of composite materials are very difficult to detect by radar.

"If you do not identify them with radars, then only visually, and then the development with anti-aircraft anti-aircraft guns, which, fortunately, Ukraine has received now, begins. " Cheetahs" and others show themselves quite effectively. In Russia, in principle, there are no such installations. They are not enough, and they are usually used at the front. These are short-range tactical systems to protect troops," the expert said.

Mykhailo Samus stressed that now air defense systems are being pulled to Putin's residence in order not to waste expensive S-400 missiles.

"Now they are being dragged from the front to Putin's residence. It is necessary to close with short-range systems, because the S-400 is spent on some kind of drone... Moreover, the S-400 radar is not a fact that it will detect a drone flying at an altitude of 100 meters. It doesn't have as much radar mark as a big metal plane or a missile," he said.

The director of the New Geopolitics Research Network believes that the drone attack was in the afternoon to psychologically affect the Russians and now "every oligarch on Rublyovka will have his own Tor or Buk."

"Why do I think it's a psychological attack and not an attack to achieve any goals - it was in the afternoon. These drones were seen by a bunch of people. Of course, they can be shot down at least with small arms or artillery installations. They used rocket launchers, at Rublyovka, it seems to me, soon every oligarch will have a regular "Tor" or "Buk". When you invite you to a party, look, I have a guarantee of security," he added.

Samus explained that a new drone attack on Moscow is likely to be at night, since then they are difficult to detect. Then Putin's residences may be hit.

"I think that the next attacks could be at night, and then there will be problems for Russian air defenses - to identify these drones and prevent a strike on the Rublev residences of ministers, generals, Surovikin, and possibly Putin, and other facilities that Moscow has a lot," he said.

Recall that on May 30, local authorities announced an attack by unknown drones on Moscow and damage to houses.

Military expert Oleh Zhdanov believes that the attack on Moscow could have been organized by the Russian FSB, since Russians so often act to justify their crimes.
