The reason for Russia's war against Ukraine is that the world condemned the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler, but did not condemn the actions of the dictator of the Soviet Union Joseph Stalin.

This opinion was stated in an interview with Glavkom by MEP and former Minister of Defense of Lithuania Rasa Juknevičienė.

"When they say that Putin is like Hitler, it certainly is. But everyone forgets what made Russia so. And this is Stalinism, they [Russia] are returning to Stalinism. Stalin is a hero for them," she said.

According to her, Soviet crimes "were not condemned by any tribunal." That is why the politician, together with her team, is working to ensure that the international community recognizes the same Nazi and communist ideologies. After all, "opening Russians' eyes" to the war waged by Putin's regime requires "a court and accessible information about what happened so that Russians understand this."

As an example, she said of Germany, in which, after the defeat of Hitler's regime, "denazification continued from year to year": "Now Germany has become a democratic state," she said.

As reported, former US Secretary of State (1973-1977), political scientist, one of the most influential geostrategists of the United States Henry Kissinger warned that humanity is on the verge of World War III.
