The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he considers the main mistake of Russia and Belarus to delay the "solution of the issue" regarding Ukraine.

This writes the propaganda publication BelTA, reports NV.

"Everything was going towards it. The only mistake, perhaps, is that we did not resolve this issue in 2014-2015, when Ukraine had neither an army nor readiness... Everyone wanted to settle peacefully somehow. And during this time they created combat-ready armed forces," Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian leader accused external influence of the war and arming Ukraine. He added that the leadership allegedly had many opportunities for "peaceful coexistence," but none of the presidents "used these opportunities."

According to him, the intention to strengthen the army of Ukraine was confirmed by the participants in the then negotiations on a peaceful settlement, who allegedly "frankly admitted that they did everything to prepare Ukraine for war with Russia."

Earlier, Lukashenko accused the West of plans to "seize power by force in Belarus."

Meanwhile, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin seeks to seize Belarus in order to restore the USSR. According to the Ukrainian president, this is the goal of the life of the Kremlin dictator.
