With fireworks-check and rally-worship in Kalofer honored the memory of the genius poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. Events in Botev's hometown began tonight.

Among the hundreds who passed through the holiest place of worship today Hristo Botev's home in Kalofer was the Patarinski family. They come with their two children from Burgas to show them that the hero of Bulgaria grew up in a poor and large family.

"Our history is drenched in blood and we need to know it to remember who we really are," Zhivko Patarinski said.

As shrines in Botev's hometown are kept his only survivors to this day personal belongings. "Unfortunately, the ideal that Botev bequeathed to us that truth is holy and freedom is kind, we often ignore it. Let us never fight and die, especially the young, for this freedom, but freedom is above all a responsibility. This is what we have to remember," says Asya Nikolova, director of HM "Hristo Botev" - Kalofer.

For 7 years, the residents of Kalofer have been fighting for the repair of the memorial complex, for which the state spent BGN 300,<>, to be qualitatively carried out.

"The lighting worked. They fixed it today. The stairs are broken. They're not fixed yet. We have a promise from the community, we have understanding. We are also waiting for the repair," said Rumen Stoyanov, Mayor of Kalofer.

Hundreds of children from all over Bulgaria today climbed the steps to the majestic monument of Botev to pay tribute to the hero's feat and recite his poems.
