Interview of Croatian goalkeeper Mario Mustapic on apasport.az website

- "Kaspaz" managed to stay in the Premier League. Can you say that you have reached your goal?

- The championship is over and I'm looking at our performance in the season now. We showed some really good football and it worked out. So we stayed in the league with no doubts or problems. That was the main goal we had.

- Actually, you had to go to games sooner. But the club failed to book you. How do you value your performance in the Cup?

- Yes, it's true, when I first came to the Cup, they couldn't register me because of some problems. So I had to go home. But in the winter in Antalya, I was in the team camp during pre-season preparation.

- Why do you think you couldn't be the main goalkeeper in the Cup? Sometimes you played, sometimes Orhan Sadyk...

- I can't fully agree with the 9 games I played in the end. However, in these nine games we lost only 9 games so I think that is a good statistic. Because we were particularly in the low stakes of the tournament schedule. I think I was getting better over time. That is why I can make progress. I put this transition behind me now that I have to adapt to some new things. I hope everything goes in the right way.

- Will we see you in the Cup in the new season? Or are you likely to move to another team?

- If we address the issue of my future, I have to take a few days to rest well. From now on I will have to see what is best and make a decision. I want to play and that is all the important thing. This is the mindset of every football player.

- "Kaspaz" played his last matches in Kebala, not in Youth. How did that affect the outcome of the team?

- The Kebala Stadium is really good. But it is not our home. I think if we played in Youth, we would have won more. This is especially so when we look at the results we have achieved in front of our narcissists in our own stadium. I'm sure every player gets tired of going a long way on the bus every week but things were like that and we couldn't have affected that.

- What's your opinion of the Azerbaijani Premier League, and what's more focused?

- The Premier League is at a really good level. It was exciting until the end and it is a really competitive league. I like playing in good stadiums so I was very satisfied with that. The championship is a team that demonstrates good football in European competitions. Therefore the results show their quality.

- Were you used to living as a young man?

- It's hard to compare a young man to Zagreb. There are a lot of differences like culture, but I have lived in Youth and I can say it was great there. It takes me a few moments to get fit but I felt good there. People were doing well towards me. So I felt happy in Youth.
