Three earthquakes were recorded in the Romanian seismic region of Vrancea last night, Digi 24 TV reported, citing the National Institute of Geophysics. The strongest quake had a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale and was registered at 3:19 am Romanian (and Bulgarian) time.

After the earthquake of 3.3 on the Richter scale, which occurred at a depth of 147 km, the National Institute of Geophysics registered two more quakes with magnitude 2.5 and 2.8 on the Richter scale, Digi 24 reported.

Since the beginning of May, 46 earthquakes with a magnitude between 2 and 4.7 on the Richter scale have been recorded in Romania.

The strongest earthquake in Romania this year occurred on February 14 in the county of Gorj and had a magnitude of 5.7.
