The Russian invaders began using air strikes to weaken Ukraine's offensive potential, as well as to disrupt the final stage of the Ukrainian military's preparations for a counteroffensive.
Former Deputy Chairman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Ihor Romanenko explained why Russia has intensified strikes throughout Ukraine and especially on Kyiv.
He stated that Kyiv is the center of political, economic, social and military decision-making.
"We know what potential the capital has in these areas, the enemy also knows this, and therefore he has been trying lately to strike more at military targets, and such, in their opinion, is the place of decision-making. And these strikes are used by all means, including accumulated ones," Romanenko said.
In addition, the expert explained what has changed so far, unlike the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, which took place in February 2022.
"The number of modern high-precision missiles such as Iskander-M, Kalibr has significantly decreased compared to the beginning of the war, but a fairly large number of air-launched Kh-101, Kh-555, but air-launched missiles require a long time to enter data for firing," the general explained.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that earlier military expert Alexander Kovalenko said that the Russian Federation has established production, so the invaders will never run out of missiles.
In addition, we previously reported that the spokesperson of OK "South" Natalia Gumeniuk warned that the enemy was preparing for a new missile strike.
