The Organizing Committee of the 29th International Poetry Festival of Havana condemned the cultural and communicational war against Cuba and its Revolution, which now seeks to attack the National Prize for Literature Nancy Morejón.

Through the Ministry of Culture of Cuba it was known that the organizers rejected the aggressions towards the academic and honorary president of this contest, as they try to affect her participation in the Parisian meeting of summer 2023.

Nancy Morejón was awarded this year the honorary presidency of the Poetry Market, an event founded in 1983 by the editor Jean-Michel Place and the critic Arlette Albert-Birot, which brings together writers, publishers and publications from all over the world in Paris.

During the inauguration of the event, which will take place from June 7 to 12, the Cuban intellectual will offer a few words and give two lectures on Caribbean poetry.

These attacks are added to those perpetrated by reactionary sectors of the Cuban emigration against the Buena Fe duo on their tour of Spain.
