During the day, the Russian occupiers inflicted 2 missile and 22 air strikes, carried out about 20 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and settlements.

This is stated in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 31.

The General Staff warns that the likelihood of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The situation in certain areas

The Russians continue to focus their main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. During the day, the Defense Forces repelled 16 enemy attacks.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains stable, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.

In the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the border areas with Ukraine. He carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the settlements of Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region, Seredyna-Buda, Fotovyzh, Hirky, Atynske in the Sumy region, as well as Udy, Hoptivka, Lyptsi, Strilecha, Zelene, Ternova, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Pletenivka, Vovchanski Khutory, Ohirtseve, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Chuhunovka, Ambarne, Hryhorivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive operations west of Masiutivka, Kharkiv region, and in the directions of Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region, during the day. Air strikes were carried out in the areas of Kyslivka and Kotliarivka, Kharkiv region. The enemy shelled Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, Berestovo in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region.

In the Liman direction during the day, the invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bilohorivka. Air strikes were carried out in the areas of Terniv and Siversk, Donetsk region. Artillery shelling hit Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Novosadove, Torske, Spirne in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Bila Hora during the day. Kramatorsk, Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkovo, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Dyliivka, Zalizne and New York of Donetsk region suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russians did not conduct offensive operations. An air strike was carried out near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Artillery shelling was carried out in the settlements of Novokalynove, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Severne, Netailove, Karlivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske of Donetsk region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold their positions

In the Maryinka direction, our defenders repulsed all enemy attacks in the Marinka area. In the same place, the enemy launched an air strike, artillery shelling hit Kurakhovo, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobeda, Yelyzavetivka, Katerynivka, Kostiantynivka and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the occupiers launched air strikes in the area of Vuhledar and Prechystivka. The settlements of Bogoyavlenka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Shakhtarske and Velyka Novosilka were shelled.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive actions. Shelled settlements bordering the contact line, including: Vremivka, Vilne Pole, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, Novopil, Temyrivka of Donetsk region; Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka and Stepove Kamianske, Zaporizhia region; Beryslav, Kozatske, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Dniprovske, Kizomis, Shyroka Balka of Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Retaliatory strikes

Aviation of the Defense Forces during the day inflicted 9 strikes on areas of concentration of enemy personnel and military equipment.

Our defenders destroyed 2 enemy reconnaissance UAVs.

During the day, units of rocket troops and artillery hit 1 control point, 1 artillery unit in a firing position, 2 ammunition depots and 2 stations of electronic warfare.

Earlier it was reported that the enemy DRG wanted to penetrate the Kharkiv region.
