Prosecutor requests preventive detention against Keiko Fujimori for Odebrecht case 2:53

(CNN Spanish) -- The Judiciary of Peru ordered a measure of prohibition of leaving the country for 36 months for Keiko Fujimori and seven other people in the framework of an investigation for the crime of money laundering, the agency announced on Wednesday.


The measure announced by the Peruvian Justice also prohibits the former candidate for the presidency of Peru from changing her fiscal domicile, among other "rules of conduct."

Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, has been investigated by the Peruvian Prosecutor's Office since 2018 in the framework of the "Odebrecht case", for allegedly having received irregular contributions from this company for her presidential campaigns.

The former candidate has previously rejected those accusations and affirmed her innocence.
