Now there is a lull in the Bakhmut direction, but it will not last long. Meanwhile, the occupiers are trying to force the Ukrainian military to move from offensive to defense.

This was reported to Channel 24 by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar.

"On the one hand, the intensity of the enemy's offensive actions has decreased significantly, in fact, it does not carry out an offensive there, but the intensity of shelling, air strikes and artillery has increased. Now, if we equalize by numbers, the number of these attacks actually reaches the level that was during the fiercest battles for Bakhmut," she said.

According to her, now another phase of defense is taking place in this direction. We are talking about a lull, but, in her opinion, it is not for long. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for reinforcement.

"The situation will change, the enemy is preparing to intensify hostilities, as well as the Armed Forces of Ukraine are carrying out a certain set of actions to strengthen their positions, which is why the advance on the flanks has not been carried out for several days," the Deputy Minister of Defense summed up.
