"This is a typical contract murder committed by professionals, which is paid quite well. We can say Agatha Christie-style "murder for millions."

This is what criminologist Ivan Savov said.

He commented on the murder of Krasimir Kamenov - Curo in South Africa last week.

According to Savov, Curro was "a prominent representative of the underground of the 90s" and one of the few survivors.

"A person with such a long track record can't help but offend someone's interests, or an ex-partner, or someone who feels threatened by being stripped of their business," he said.

He did not rule out the possibility that the murder was related to a business that has nothing to do with Bulgaria, such as the diamond business in Africa.

"It seems to me impossible to identify the physical perpetrators of the murder. For the guarantors it is not so impossible, but there must be work quite seriously and there must be cooperation, "Savov explained.

He also said that all conspiracies on the case should be cleared and what was revealed from the investigation should be made public and it should become clear whether Kamenov continued to "pull the strings in Bulgaria".

"I don't think we're going to see an answer in this particular case, because the times of the vendettas between the different groupings suggested strengths. I don't think Curo has maintained any strong network to avenge him," Savov said.

The fact that Curo's children were left alive is not accidental, the criminologist is convinced.

"Killers usually research their target's habits in advance. There is a rule for children not to be attacked. In this case, they waited for the children to go to school," Ivan Savov told Bulgaria on air.
