The British Treasury is reviewing the financial situation of Farhad Moshiri, the owner of the Everton football club.

According to the EPA's British bureau, the Guardian has leaked information about the case. It has been reported that the Treasury's sanction police are reviewing the financial situation of Farhad Moshiri, the owner of the Everton football club.

Moshiri has become an interest in the Office of the Application of Financial Sanctions (OFSI) over his links to Russian-owned billionaire Eliser Usmanov, who was sanctioned by Britain, the EU and the US after Russia's attacks on Ukraine last year.

Usmanov has also been banned from entering Britain since September 2021 because his presence in the country is not considered conducive to the public good.

Earlier this month the Sunday Times's 2023 Rich list estimated that Moshiri had a commodity asset worth around £1.6bn. In addition to Everton, Mushiri has been listed as the owner of assets worth more than £100m in Britain, including a number of luxury homes in north London.
