Before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has taken a big decision. Ashok Gehlot has announced a big relief in electricity bill for all consumers in Rajasthan. The Chief Minister has announced by tweeting today that those using up to 100 units of electricity in the state will get zero bill. Every month all consumers will get 100 units of electricity absolutely free. Surcharge will be waived for those using 200 units of electricity and their 100 units of electricity will also be free.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that after visiting the inflation relief camps and talking to the public, feedback came that there should be some changes in the slab-wise exemption in electricity bills. In May, feedback was also received from the public about the fuel surcharge in electricity bills, on the basis of which a big decision has been taken.

The Chief Minister said that the electricity bill of those consuming electricity up to 100 units per month will be zero. They will not have to pay any bill as before. Families consuming more than 100 units per month will also be given 100 units of electricity free, that is, no matter how much the bill comes, no electricity charges will have to be paid for the first 100 units.

Gehlot said that keeping in mind the middle class people, consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month will be exempted from the first 100 units of electricity free, along with fixed charges, fuel surcharge and other charges up to 200 units. These will be paid by the state government.
