5-year-old Anton T. was sentenced to five years in prison after beating the woman he lived with and later fell into a coma and died.

The Varna District Court found the man guilty of intentionally inflicting minor bodily injury on 13.06.2020, in the village of Avren, Varna region, intentionally causing minor bodily injury to Gina Iv., resulting in a non-life-threatening health disorder, as a result of which he inadvertently caused her death, which occurred on July 11, 2020.

The five-judge panel, consisting of two judges and three jurors, acquitted him of deliberately killing the woman with whom he cohabited, in the conditions of domestic violence, in a particularly painful way for the murdered and with particular cruelty.

A man beat his wife with a shovel and left her without fingers on her right hand.

Anton and 32-year-old Gina lived in his mother's house in Avren. On June 13, 2020, he went to a nearby drinking establishment and began drinking with company. In the evening, around 20:30 p.m., Gina joined them, and an hour later the two of them left to go home.

In the house, Anton behaved aggressively, broke the glass of one of the doors in the house with his fist and cut his hand.

Then he started beating his wife. Numerous tests show that he gave her at least five blows with his fist to the woman's head. Then they both went to sleep.

For the next three days, Gina lay down, had difficulty breathing, and was not in contact. Anton didn't call a doctor or take care of her.

He managed to find transport for himself - he went to the emergency center of the hospital "St. Anna" in Varna, as it turned out that he had cut an artery.

Acquaintances of the woman had not seen her for several days and decided to go to the house to see what was happening to her. Worried about the type and condition, she asked Anton to call a medical team, but he refused. The woman was admitted to hospital in a coma and never regained consciousness.

Forensic examinations indicate that the cause of death is a brain injury that has been complicated by the development of bilateral abscessive bronchopneumonia. According to experts, the traumatic injuries are in a causal connection with the death outcome of the woman.
