Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin seeks to seize Belarus in order to restore the Soviet Union.

The Head of State said this in an interview with the Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo.

"Putin's next target is Belarus. It absorbs Belarusian metallurgy. Today's Putin is clearly a different person than we have seen before. It is difficult to talk with Putin before he withdraws all his troops from the territory of Ukraine," Zelensky said.

According to him, the revival of the USSR is the goal of the life of the Kremlin dictator. Since it is impossible to achieve this through diplomatic means, Moscow is experiencing various types of blackmail. In particular, because of energy.

"Failed. Then he decided to become an outright aggressor. They kill and torture countless civilians and even threaten a nuclear catastrophe by occupying nuclear power plants," Zelensky said.

Recall, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called on the CIS countries to join the "Union State" (a supranational formation of Russia and Belarus) in order to obtain nuclear weapons.

Also, on May 25, Russia and Belarus signed documents on the deployment of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of the republic.
