As part of the actions carried out by the Provincial Inspection Directorate (DIP) in Artemisa, violations were detected in the Comercializadora Acopio of the Caimito municipality, so it was decided to apply Decree 67/22 "Regulation of the Law of Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security".

At the time of the inspection it was found that there were 30 quintals of cabbage and 1 quintal of pumpkin in a state of putrefaction in the warehouse. These foods presented fetidity, and were not marketed to the population despite being received on May 26, 2023.

Due to the importance of this violation and in the midst of the current economic context, the DIP verified the violation of the provisions of Decree 67/22, Article 39, paragraph G "Non-observance or failure to create a measure to reduce food losses and waste during the harvest, post-harvest, transformation, marketing and transportation stages".

After the corresponding analysis, it was decided to apply a fine in the amount of $ 30. 000 to the director of the entity for not creating the corresponding mechanisms for the commercialization of these products.

The Government of Artemisa rejects such events in Caymita territory, without any justification given the need to market more food and quality to the Cuban family.
