The Ukrainian Armed Forces have purchased about 60 Western-made tanks.
Defense Secretary Alexei Reznikov said this in an interview with the Funke media group on Tuesday, the EPA said, citing TASS.
"The tank supply coalition includes Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, and Canada. So far, we have two battalions of 30 Leopard tanks each, or about 60 in total," Reznikov said. France has given Kiev AMX-10RC wheel tanks, Britain's Challenger and the U.S. Abrams tanks, he said.
On January 25, the German Cabinet of Ministers confirmed that it would send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allow other countries to export them again. On February 7, the government approved the delivery of 178 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Kiev. On February 24, Germany decided to supply four more equipment to Kiev than the armed forces.
