Customs officers found two combat pistols while checking a truck.

On 28.05.2023, around 10:05, a tractor with a semi-trailer with Turkish registration arrived at Kapitan Andreevo BCP. The driver – a Turkish citizen, presents regular documents for the transported goods - car parts from Great Britain through Germany and Bulgaria to Turkey. By the "risk analysis" method, the vehicle is selected for thorough control.

During a personal examination of the driver, a customs officer found two packages attached to the back of the man's waist, attached with the trouser belt. In one of the packages was found a combat pistol and two magazines for it, and in the other package - parts of another disassembled pistol.

More parts of it were found in the pockets of the man's jacket, in the side cupboard of the tractor, as well as in the dashboard of the driver's cab.

The smuggled weapons were seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the Haskovo District Prosecutor's Office.

The driver with the initials K.T., 53, a Turkish citizen, was charged under Article 242, paragraph 1, letter D. Against the same was taken a measure of remand "Guarantee in money", as well as "Prohibition to leave the borders of the Republic of Bulgaria", except with the permission of the District Prosecutor's Office - Haskovo.
