The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (Sofia City Prosecutor's Office) proposed to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivan Geshev Ivan Stoimenov Geshevwas born on December 19, 1970. He graduated from the University of Law to submit a reasoned request to the National Assembly for permission to initiate criminal proceedings against Boyko Borisov - former Prime Minister and MP in the 49th National Assembly.

The proposal was prepared in connection with pre-trial proceedings, known in the media as "Barcelonagate", in which evidence was collected within the meaning of Art. 219 of the Criminal Procedure Code for a crime under art. 253 of the MP money laundering /.

From the evidence collected in the course of pre-trial proceedings, it can be concluded that the former prime minister has provided third parties acquired as a result of a crime with funds for the purchase and rental of real estate abroad, the state prosecution said.
