The Government announced the latest list of 56 members of the Expert Group of the Chief Executive Policy Group, including a number of figures from the political, business and academic circles, among which Zheng Yongnian, a well-known political scientist from the Mainland, Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Research Institute in Guangzhou, and President of the Qianhai Institute of International Affairs of the Hong Kong Chinese University (Shenzhen), has attracted much attention.

The term of office of the members of the Expert Group is one year, effective immediately, until 2024 May 5. The members of the Expert Group will be divided into three groups, namely the Expert Group on Economic Development, the Expert Group on Social Development and the Expert Group on Research Strategies.

Chief Executive Policy Unit Head Wong Yuen-shan said, "The panelists have rich experience and expertise in their respective areas and are keen to contribute to Hong Kong. Apart from holding regular meetings, the Chief Executive Policy Sub-Committee will also take the initiative to seek the views of relevant members on individual issues so as to capture the wisdom and experience of the members of the PropOptresis Panel."
