In Lviv, doctors rescued a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was in critical condition after missile strikes on the Yavoriv training ground. They fought for the man's life for a long time and now he is waiting for further treatment and rehabilitation.

It is reported by the First Medical Association of Lviv.

46-year-old captain of the Armed Forces Roman Kulyk was mobilized in the first days of the war. In March 2022, he was trained at the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region. On March 13, Russian terrorists fired more than 30 missiles at this facility. Then 61 people died, another 160 were injured.

Roman Kulyk recalls that then he found himself in a real hell. His injuries were critical and doctors gave little chance of salvation.

"At the time, he was our most-traumatized hero. A patient who was in the most critical condition of the hundred wounded who came to us that day. We have repeatedly had reports at various international congresses of war trauma surgeons. Because this is a truly unique case when we managed to save the life of a person with such severe, critical injuries," recalls Hnat Herych, a doctor at the Battle for Sevastopol Center.

The 46-year-old soldier spent 20 days in intensive care and another 50 days in the surgical department. His wife was always by his side.

Roman Kulyk recalls that his injuries were really severe, because he survived in a real hell, because just 3 meters away part of the rocket exploded. He is now awaiting new surgery as he still does not feel part of his arm.

"God saved me with the hands of doctors who pulled me out of the other world," says the soldier.

Missile strike on the Yavoriv training ground: what is known

On March 13, the Russian occupation army fired more than 30 cruise missiles at the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region. A certain number were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.

Then 61 people died at the scene of the tragedy, another 160 soldiers were injured.

The SBU then detained the Russian Federation, which corrected rocket attacks on the Yavoriv military training ground in Lviv region. This is 72-year-old Alexander K., a former employee of the KGB of the USSR, who lived in Lviv and supported the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine. The traitor is currently on trial. He denies any involvement in the crime and says that he threw the Russians a map of the Yavoriv training ground, where "it was possible to pick mushrooms."
