On May 30, Samad Seyidov, chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on International Relations and Parliamentary Relations, met with a representative of the European Union's Working Group on Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

According to a report from the National Assembly to the EPA, Samad Seyidov emphasized the importance of cooperation with the European Union of Azerbaijan and spoke of the ongoing successful cooperation between the parties.

Samad Seyidov spoke of the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the ECHR. Speaking about the situation in the region, the chairman of the committee said that Azerbaijan is taking steps to establish normal neighborhood relations with Armenia and to sign a peace treaty.

Speaking about the role of the international community, including the European Union and its institutions in promoting peace in the Southern Caucasus, Samad Seyidov informed his colleagues about Azerbaijan's efforts to promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

At the meeting, Tural Ghanliyev, head of the European Union-European Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, spoke of the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the development of EU relations.

Ambassador Peter Mikhalko, head of the European Union's (EU) delegation in Azerbaijan, stressed the high level of relations and talked about cooperation in reform.

Ciara O'Brien, then head of the European Union (EU) Council's Working Group on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), stressed that our country is an economically highly developed country. Noting that the prospects for relations between the ECHR and Azerbaijan are great, the European guest expressed confidence that peace and stability will be achieved in the region.

During the discussion, an exchange of views on Azerbaijani-European Union cooperation and regional issues was held.

Aziz Elekhadov, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation at the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, diplomats from the region, representatives of the ECHR, the European Commission, and the European Foreign Affairs Service, attended the meeting.
