Describing it as a nine-year service, Modi said every decision taken in the last nine years was to "improve people's lives". "Today, as we complete 9 years of service to the nation, I am filled with humility and gratitude. Every decision, every action, is guided by the desire to improve people's lives. We will continue to work even harder. Build a developed India. The PM #9YearsOfSeva with it," the hashtag gave.

The BJP has planned a massive "special contact campaign" across the country starting today. In a statement, the party said the country has witnessed "unprecedented" development in every sector in the last nine years with the mantra of "nation first". Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the new Parliament building amid boycott by opposition parties.

He described the new building as a "temple of democracy" and felicitated some of the workers involved in its construction. Narendra Modi was sworn in as prime minister for the first time on May 26, 2014. He took oath of office for a second term on May 30, 2019.
