President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, May 29, called Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated him on his victory.

This was announced by Ukrainian President on social networks.

President Zelenskyy congratulated Erdogan on his election victory. He stressed that Turkey is an important partner of Ukraine, in particular regarding the "grain deal".

"In a telephone conversation, I congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in the elections. He noted the personal role of the President of Turkey in the continuation of the grain initiative, which is an important component of world food security. Cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey is important and effectively contributes to the well-being of our peoples and international stability. We will continue to develop it. And work together to strengthen the security of the region, Europe and the world!" he said.

Recall that in Turkey on May 28, the second round of presidential elections ended, in which the current head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu competed.
