Wrestlers have been protesting for the last 38 days.

The FIR lodged by the Delhi Police against the wrestlers is a complaint filed by constable Madhav posted at Barakhamba police station. According to the FIR, the wrestlers assaulted and manhandled the policemen, in which constable Madhav, who is admitted to Lady Hardinge Hospital, was injured. According to the FIR, despite the refusal, the wrestlers broke two barricades and reached the third barricade, where they were stopped. There are 12 accused in the FIR, including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik.

According to the FIR, it was the inauguration of the highest constitutional body of the country, which is a matter of national security and respect. There will be no compromise with its safety and honour and any obstruction in which would amount to damage the national reputation, as informed to them. But still they did not agree.

Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa said the wrestlers have been protesting for the past 38 days. We co-ordinated them in every way. Their candle march was taken out, permission was given. Yesterday, they knew that the new Parliament building was to be inaugurated. The entire force was engaged in security. We did not allow them to go there. Yet they left for there at the same time and broke 2 barricades. Despite being such a big player, they did not obey the police and their behavior was very bad. A drama was created with our women police personnel. It is absolutely wrong to say that the Delhi Police has misbehaved with them.
