In the afternoon, May 29, the Russian army launched a massive strike on Kyiv, explosions were heard in different parts of the capital. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported on the active work of air defense in the capital.

The capital's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said at 11:29 a.m. that emergency services had responded to a call near the city center after the explosion.

Subsequently, he wrote that rescuers were extinguishing rocket debris burning on the roadway in the Obolonsky district, and showed a photo.

As of 11:45, it is known about the fall of six rocket fragments in four districts of the capital.

  • in Obolonske – near the gas station, on the road and in the green zone
  • in Desnyansky – on the territory of one of the parks
  • in Dniprovskyi – on the road surface in different places

The military administration of the capital also reported falling debris in the Podolsk district. The roof of a two-story building caught fire, the fire was contained.

According to the mayor of Kyiv, doctors hospitalized one wounded person in the Podolsky district of the capital.

The CMVA says that the enemy has changed tactics.

"Only 6 hours after the night attack, the aggressor country again launched a missile strike on Kyiv. Previously, the enemy used ballistic weapons. It was the 16th attack on the capital since the beginning of the month. Thus, the enemy changed tactics - after prolonged exclusively night attacks, struck a peaceful city during the day, when most of the inhabitants were at work and on the streets. That is, the Rashists clearly demonstrate that they are aimed at killing the civilian population. Previously, all air targets were successful by the forces and means of our air defense. According to available information, no hits were allowed on Kyiv objects," commented Serhiy Popko, head of the CMVA.

In the Kyiv region, in one of the districts, an outbuilding was damaged – a fire broke out there, which has already been extinguished. No casualties.

What flew

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that the occupiers could have attacked Kyiv Iskander, as the missiles flew along a ballistic trajectory. According to him, Russia attacked from the north.

"Previously, these were Iskanders. They are of various modifications. The Iskander-M is a ballistic missile, and the Iskander-K is a cruise missile. What type of weapons were used - we will give later," said Ignat.

Recall that on the night of May 29, the Russian military also launched a massive strike on Kyiv and the region. The occupiers used Iranian drones "Shahed" and missiles X-101/555.

And on the night of May 28, the Russian Armed Forces "congratulated" the capital on the day of Kyiv — about 40 drones were fired at the city, the maximum number since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
