Karel Rzehka, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Republic said about the likelihood of war between Russia and NATO.

He stressed that preparation and deterrence are essential to prevent such a scenario.

"A war between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance, which is the worst-case scenario for us, is not impossible, it is possible," the Czech Chief of Staff said.

According to him, Russia is now on a trajectory of conflict with the (North Atlantic) alliance.

"The Czech Republic is a member of NATO, and this brings benefits, but also imposes certain obligations. Therefore, if war breaks out, a large number of Czech soldiers will join the fighting in accordance with the plans of the alliance," he added.

The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, General Karel Rzehka, called on the public to prepare for a "bad scenario" of Ukraine's counteroffensive.
