The fourth graders wrote about love and trust at the national external assessment in Bulgarian language and literature. It was to these values that the task of reading comprehension on an excerpt from a children's book was devoted. To prove that they understood what they read, the fourth graders solved 10 problems.

Of these, 4 with an elective answer and 6 with a short free answer. Those with an elective answer were related to the characters, the plot and the language in the work of art. Six of the questions to the text required recording a free answer with a short sentence or with a citation/example from the text, the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

The test began with a dictation recreating an autumn landscape. It checks the application of the spelling standards studied in the primary grades, as well as listening and writing skills. The dictation text is recorded on an audio file to ensure equal conditions for all students to read and listen to it.

The matriculation exam in BLL has not made it difficult for the well-trained fourth graders

The language tasks had three elective answers, one of which is correct. They test basic competences related to the applied nature of the language.

The last task was of a creative nature. Students were required to create their own short text sentences based on a series of paintings. With the help of supporting questions, children are directed to recreate the actions and emotions of the characters from each picture and to write a text in which the sentences are in a logical relationship, and the interpretation shows thinking skills and appropriate use of language tools.
