Before the war, singer Olya Polyakova had a predominantly Russian-language repertoire, but on February 24 she began to change her work.

Despite the great love of fans for the past hits of the singer, she decided to abandon all songs in Russian. Polyakova convincingly stated that from now on, listeners will not hear tracks from her in the language of enemies.

"I will say that a lot of people in Ukraine underestimated the importance of language. But when they wanted to take away our land, abolish our nationality, deny our language, we wanted to become Ukrainians more than ever. I am no exception. I don't use Russian anymore. Moreover, I can say that I will never sing in Russian again," Olya said on the air of Lviv Wave.

The singer said that she continued to work with the same songwriters as before the war. Polyakova turned some of the Russian-language songs with them into new Ukrainian-language hits. For example, "Flippers", "Queen of the Night" received a new sound, and "Ice Throne" turned into "Paradise on Earth".
