By the "risk analysis" method, the vehicle is selected for thorough inspection. During the control actions it was found that among the declared goods are hidden white metal products, which, according to the expert's expertise, are of silver sample 925.

Rings, medallions, bracelets, necklaces with a total weight of 19,835 grams worth BGN 138,845 were found. The smuggled silver jewelry was detained, and pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case.

Smuggled smartwatches and hard drives of Kapitan Andreevo were seized

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Import-Export, last year at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint 36 kilograms of silver were detained. Illegal traffic is almost always in the direction from Turkey to Bulgaria or Western Europe, and the reason is the lower price of the precious metal in our southeastern neighbor, customs officers commented.
