The Russian army has stepped up again and intensified missile strikes on Ukraine and drone attacks to weaken Ukrainian forces ahead of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive.
This was announced on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the head of security programs of the Center for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" Pavlo Lakiichuk.
According to the expert, the Russian occupation army is trying to open the rear, operational reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Obviously, the enemy is afraid of the announced counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is trying to somehow, accordingly, weaken the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Secondly, it is work against our air defense. This is an attempt to disperse air defense. In fact, we have more and more new systems. This worries the enemy. But the number of air defense systems is not enough to cover both the forward line of defense and the main important objects. This is the goal of the enemy to prevent this concentration of air defense systems in the most important areas," he said.
In addition, according to the expert, the Kremlin has not abandoned the idea of destroying Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
