A government school in Mandu in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district has removed a portrait of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai following protests by local villagers. A portrait of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, which was installed in a government school in Jharkhand, was removed on Saturday following protests by locals, police said.

The school administration said that the picture of the Pakistani Nobel laureate was put up to inspire the girl students. According to the police, Malala's picture was put up at a government school in Kol belt Kuju in Mandu block of the district. After this, the head of the village, Jai Kumar Ojha, along with panchayat representatives and local people, protested against it.

School principal Ravindra Prasad said she gave permission to put up the picture after a teacher of the school sought her permission to put up malala's picture to motivate the students. But when the panchayat and locals protested, Malala's picture was removed, he said.

Ojha said that the whole world knows that Pakistan works to spread terror against India and India has paid a heavy price on the borders because of Pakistan, so there is no need to learn peace from Pakistanis. "So, along with the locals, we had protested against it," he said.
