In Zaporizhzhia, the prosecutor's office served a notice of suspicion to a former deputy of the city council, who was a representative of the Russian agent network and corrected missile strikes on the city's infrastructure.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.

The former city council deputy, who has been a supporter of communist ideology since Soviet times, has actively supported Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale invasion. He was informed of suspicion of treason (Article 2 (111) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It is known that, according to his guidance, in the spring of 2023, the occupiers launched a missile strike on a residential neighborhood of Zaporizhzhia. He also corrected more than one hostile shelling of critical infrastructure of the city.

In 2022, according to his own convictions, he joined the agent network of the aggressor country and began to assist the special services of the Russian Federation in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine in every possible way.

"According to the instructions of the handlers, the suspect collected information about the locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the location of objects of the military and defense-industrial complex. He also recorded the consequences of enemy strikes on the regional center. The extracted data was transmitted via Telegram", – stated in the message.

The suspect has been detained. The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
