In Ukraine, a resident of Odessa was sentenced to 11 years in prison, who organized a charity fundraiser for the occupiers. Thus, the woman established a channel for financing the militants of the "DPR".

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

As it became known, two relatives of the offender in 2016 joined the ranks of the terrorist group "DPR Sparta" and fought against the ATO/JFO forces in eastern Ukraine.

"At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, both militants became part of the regular units of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces and took part in the seizure of Mariupol and part of the Kherson region. Having learned about the low level of material and technical support of relatives-occupiers, the woman voluntarily organized a fundraiser for them. To do this, in groups in messengers and banned social networks, Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki posted messages calling for financial assistance to the invaders," the SBU said.

They also added that the woman was attaching a photo with the details of a Russian bank card that belonged to a cohabitant of a belligerent relative.

"Based on the collected evidence, the court found the offender guilty under Part 1 of Art. Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Aiding the aggressor state") and sentenced her to 11 years and 4 months of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The Security Service emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against our state," the SBU said.

Recall that the SBU served suspicion notices to four more accomplices of Russia: among them – a repeat offender who was sentenced to 10 years, ex-employees of the Ministry of Justice and the State Emergency Service.
