We should not underestimate BJP: KC Tyagi

New Delhi:

Opposition parties are busy preparing a strategy for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. From Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, they are engaged in uniting the opposition. A meeting has been called in Patna on June 12 to strengthen opposition unity. Senior JD(U) leader KC Tyagi said in an exclusive interview to NDTV that about two dozen parties have been invited to this meeting of opposition parties. There are about six non-BJP and non-Congress parties, who are not comfortable with the Congress, but they have also been invited to this meeting.

"There is no invitation for leaders who have expressed their inability. See, the enemy should never be considered weak. Then we have worked with the Bharatiya Janata Party. On this basis, we can say that we should not underestimate the BJP. We have to move forward with great strength.

Jd(U)'s national spokesperson said that nitish Kumar's formula in this meeting is being held before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. There will be a discussion on fielding a common candidate from the opposition against the BJP candidates. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved this formula in a meeting with Nitish Kumar. The Congress leadership is also ready on this formula.
