The Russians can inflict some damage on a nuclear waste test site in order to use a dirty bomb to spray nuclear waste over some territory and blame Ukraine for it.
This was told in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by Colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan.
According to him, the probability of blowing up the ZNPP is small.
"There are IAEA inspectors at the plant. There was information from the Main Directorate of Intelligence about the readiness of the Russians to inflict some damage on the nuclear waste test site in order to use a "dirty bomb" to spray nuclear waste over some territory and blame Ukraine for this. Most likely, they will do this as soon as our large-scale offensive begins in the Orekhiv area towards Melitopol. They will try to stop by blowing up one of the tanks, or somehow damage the very system of defense and protection of these tanks with spent nuclear fuel, so that the IAEA intervenes and tries to stop the fighting, our offensive," Svitan said.
"To do this, the Russians will be ready to perform such an action. We know this, we have already warned all world communities that have some levers of influence on this situation. Therefore, I think it is unlikely that it will be. Russia has been warned of the impossibility of such steps. Many IAEA inspectors have been notified," he added.
The day before, intelligence warned about the preparation of Russians for provocations at the ZNPP. The head of the Nikopol RVA, Yevhen Yevtushenko, said in the morning that the radiation background does not exceed the usual indicators.
