On May 29, President Ilham Əliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan accepted the credentials of Alim Bayel, a newly appointed ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The EPA reports that the ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state.

The head of state said that active cooperation between our countries has been implemented, emphasizing that his visit to Kazakhstan and the President of Kazakhstan has contributed to the expansion of our relations.
President Ilham Əliyev noted that friendship and brotherhood among our peoples have a great history, and he said that mutual support has always been demonstrated. Today, he said this factor is of great importance to deepening cooperation in the Xerxes Sea and other fields.
The head of state noted that active talks are now under way between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on increasing the volume of trade cycles and transportation, saying that the transportation-logistics sector is one of the main aspects of our economic relations and emphasized that joint infrastructure projects have provided a good opportunity to expand the volume of cargo. The President of Azerbaijan also emphasized the importance of using shipping facilities.
The head of state emphasized the importance of transporting oil from Kazakhstan from Azerbaijan some time ago and said it contributed significantly to expanding energy cooperation. The head of our government wanted to make a success of his ambassador's work.
Alim Bayel, who expressed his appreciation for the appointment of an ambassador to Azerbaijan, noted that he would continue his efforts to develop bilateral relations.
The ambassador paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of his predecessor, Heydər Əliyev, and congratulated the head of our government and the Azerbaijani people on Independence Day.
Scientist Bayel said it was a priority to develop economic-commercial cooperation in the expansion of our relations and to implement projects that are of great geo-economic importance to our countries but also to other regions. In particular, Trans-Xerxes noted the development of an international transportation hub, the drawing of a fiberoptic communications line along the bottom of the Xerxes Sea, and the expansion of Kazakhstan's oil exports.
The meeting highlighted the effective cooperation of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in international organizations, including the Organization of Turkish States.
