New Delhi:

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday urged Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena to take strict action in the murder of a minor girl at Shahbad Dairy here. Cm Kejriwal told the LG that it is your responsibility to maintain law and order in the city.

Cm Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "A minor girl is brutally murdered openly in Delhi. This is very sad and unfortunate. Criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police. Lieutenant Governor Sahib, law and order is your responsibility. Do something. The safety of the people of Delhi is of utmost importance."

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi also criticised the Lieutenant Governor over the incident, saying the Constitution has given the Lieutenant Governor the responsibility of protecting the people of the Union Territory.

Atishi tweeted, "My heart trembles after seeing this horrific murder. I want to remind the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi that the Constitution has given him the responsibility of protecting the people of Delhi. But they spend all their time trying to obstruct Arvind Kejriwal's work. I request the Lieutenant Governor with folded hands to pay attention to the safety of the women of Delhi. Today, women are not safe in Delhi at all.

A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death
allegedly by her boyfriend in northwest Delhi's Shahbad Dairy area, police said on Sunday. The video of the incident is going viral on social media. On Monday, the police arrested the accused from Bulandshahr. The accused allegedly stabbed her several times before crushing her to death with a stone.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra said about this incident, "This painful murder has happened in Delhi. Shraddha has not yet got justice. I don't know how many more Shraddha will be victims of this menace."

New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal on Saturday criticised the Delhi Police and alleged that no one is afraid of the police or the law in the national capital.
Swati Maliwal said, "What was the fault of the 16-year-old doll that she was brutally killed on the road like this? No one in Delhi is afraid of the police and the law. If nothing is done today, all limits of poverty will continue to be crossed."

The
National Commission for Women (NCW) has also asked the Delhi Police to take strict action in this matter. Describing the incident as "deeply disturbing and horrific", NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner to conduct a fair and time-bound investigation into the matter and arrest the accused at the earliest.

The
National Commission for Women has also formed a three-member team headed by member Delina Khongdup to investigate the matter. The NCW said its team will also meet the victim's family and the police officials concerned for further questioning. The NCW said that if the allegations are found to be true, the commission has also sought enforcement of the relevant provisions in the FIR.

The girl, a resident of J.J. Colony in Shahbad Dairy, was found dead in the street, a senior
police officer said. She was passing through the road when the boy stopped her and attacked her, the officer said. The two were in a relationship and had a fight on Saturday, he said. On Sunday, the girl was on her way to her friend's son's birthday party when the boy stopped her on the way and attacked her with a knife.

The
accused also attacked the girl with a stone several times. Police said the post-mortem will confirm how many times the girl was stabbed. The accused, identified as Sahil (20), was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
