Omiye Guzel, 52, and her lamb named Pamuk, voted together in Istanbul in the crucial second round of Turkey's presidential election, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

Cotton, wearing blue and white stripes, made everyone smile, following his owner's all the way to the third floor of the school, where Guzel was supposed to vote, and then even to the voting booth, where the owner cast her vote on him.

Guzel said she adopted the lamb, sent by her mother from Antalya to southern Turkey two months ago, when she was just over a week old.

She said Pamuk was like a child to her, and other voters were surprised and fascinated by her unusual companion. One of the observers of the vote insisted on taking a photo as a memento.

Guzel is known for traveling with her lamb in the Ayaziga district of Istanbul's Sarıyer municipality.
