Russia has reduced the number of its troops on the territory of Belarus – now several thousand Russian troops are stationed there.
This was announced on the air of the national telethon by SBGS spokesman Andriy Demchenko.
"The number of Russian troops on the territory of Belarus is much smaller than it was a few months ago. Previously, there could be 10 and 11 thousand, and now – several thousand. But despite everything, we continue to strengthen our border line both directly along the border itself and on the border line, so that the SBGS units and other components of the Defense Forces that strengthen this direction have every opportunity to respond to any threats or attempts to invade," Demchenko said.
Ukrainian border guards also continue to mine the area towards the border to prevent a breakthrough of military equipment.
We will remind, the Belarusian opposition politician said that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was hospitalized after a meeting with Putin. He is allegedly in critical condition.
