The Ukrainian military is aware that after the transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine, Russia will launch missile strikes on airfields, and therefore plans are being prepared on how to protect aviation.

This interview with Donbas Realities was told by the Chief of Aviation of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Serhii Golubtsov.

The military stressed that immediately after Ukraine receives modern aircraft, their bases will need to be covered with air defense systems.

"The enemy, learning that we have something new and powerful, of course, will try to reconnaissance it and strike. We understand this, and the units will be dispersed, definitely. And we will try to cover the airfields where these aircraft will be in order to minimize possible losses," Golubtsov said.

To recap, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need 48 F-16 aircraft to protect our state from the invaders.

Also, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat said that the mastery of Ukrainian pilots of F-16 fighters may take less than planned time, as the military has already shown an incredible result earlier, reducing the already short training time on other systems.
