(CNN Spanish) -- The majority of the autonomous communities and municipalities of Spain will hold on May 28 an election that many see as a kind of thermometer for what may happen at the end of the year, when the general elections are held in which the Congress of Deputies and the Senate will be renewed.

Only the autonomous communities known as "historical" – Andalusia, Catalonia, Galicia, the Basque Country and Castilla y León – will be left out of the call for Sunday, May 28, since the four-year legislatures of their Legislative Assemblies will end in later years.

Remember that these results are provisional and, according to the Ministry of the Interior, the official and final count is carried out by the competent Electoral Boards and begins three days after the elections.
