The Chief Executive of the Revolutionary Party (CCM), Daniel Chongolo, has called on the government to accelerate the process of reform of the education curriculum that will enable its graduates to become self-employed rather than employed.

"We want a curriculum that will empower young people and our graduates in general to become self-employed rather than rely on recruitment," Chongolo said at a rally in Malangali village, Mufindi district.

Chongolo said the current educational environment in the country has made some graduates, including university graduates, dependent rather than suffragettes.

"Whether it's agriculture, business, engineering, medicine and any other profession, we should have a curriculum that will start preparing our young people from the lowest level to be the best in those fields," he said.

He said the position of CCM is to have the new curriculum and President Samia Suluhu Hassan has already given permission to the Ministry of Education to come up with the curriculum quickly.

"In many of our schools, agriculture was a mandatory lesson from the lower levels. "We were fortunate enough to study during the system we were built on the foundation of being entrepreneurs even if there are no jobs," he said.

Earlier, the Secretary of Political Ideology and Propaganda, Dr Sophia Mjema, urged the community to invest in the greater strength that would enable the girl to achieve the dreams of education.

In addition to ensuring the values of Tanzanians and children are protected and given all their rights, Dr Mjema said that if girls are developed, they have the opportunity to become leaders like President Samia Suluhu Hassan and to improve economically.
