Tushynska was caught on camera as she confidently walked past the dancers and then posed on the platform above them, forcing them to open a large gilded door.

When a local resident tried to stop her, she made a curtsy, imitating the movements of the artists, and then got off the platform and knelt at the shrine, as if in prayer.

Shocked campers sitting in the hall watched as the tourist continued her naked procession, returning to the stage, until security intervened and detained the girl.

After that, the tourist was handed over to the police, who arrested her. The head of the public relations department of the Bali police, Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, said: "The incident with a naked foreigner occurred on the stage of the Puri Saraswati Hotel in Ubud, Gianyar Regency. She lives alone. During her time at the Ubud bungalow, she was often seen naked walking around the villa grounds."

Employees of the Saraswati temple in Ubud apologized to visitors and performed a ritual to remove "bad energy" due to nudity.

The police took Daria to the police station, where she took a drug and alcohol test. Police believe Daria was stressed when she was denied a ticket to a show in which women in traditional attire perform a dance in honor of their gods.

The head of the local council, Wayan Vidana, said that Daria suffered from "depression" because she ran out of money for her long trip.

Anggiat Napitupulu, head of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights office in the Bali region, said Daria was questioned at a police station and then taken to a hospital for physical and psychological evaluation.

Public nudity in Bali is illegal under Article 281 of the country's penal code, which prohibits "acts violating public decency or morality."

It can be used to harass people for engaging in public displays of love, such as kissing or hugging, or for wearing revealing clothing or stripping in public.

The maximum penalty for violating Article 281 of the Indonesian Penal Code is two years and eight months' imprisonment.
