As part of the activities organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), a Caravan against the Blockade was held today, from the 13 de Marzo Park to the Torreón de La Chorrera, in this capital.

Young people from different regions of the world came together to condemn the criminal blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.

Somer Rivas Rodríguez, member of the National Youth Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, recognized the Caribbean nation's will of resistance and solidarity, despite the limitations it suffers daily due to the genocidal policy.

Rivas Rodríguez pointed out that both that South American country and Cuba have something in common, and that is that they suffer the constant siege of imperialism.
Zulmit Rivera Zúniga, national secretary of the Youth of the Free Party of Honduras, described young people as synonymous with hope and guarantee of a better future.

The delegate expressed the support of the Honduran nation to the Cuban people and insisted that solidarity must be materialized in concrete actions, such as this Saturday's in pursuit of the end of the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the list of sponsors of terrorism.

The provincial president of the University Student Federation, Luis Yoel González Méndez, said that since the beginning of the week different sectors of society were summoned to achieve active participation in this caravan.

González Méndez highlighted the outstanding attendance of the student community, representing the historical commitment to the Revolution.
The caravan was led by Meyvis Estévez Echeverría, second secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC); Raul Alexander

Palmero, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the UJC, and Luis Yoel González Méndez, representing the FEEM.

On behalf of the WFDY, a wreath was placed at the statue of National Apostle José Martí in Parque 13 de Marzo.

The WFDY General Council, meeting in Cuba, will arrive at its last session on May 28 in Havana.
