New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl died after allegedly falling from the terrace of a private school in Ayodhya on Friday, police said. However, the father has claimed that his daughter was gang-raped before being thrown off the terrace. The police have registered a case against the school principal and two staff members, including a sports teacher.

The girl's father alleged that the class 10 student was called by the principal at 8.30 am despite the absence of classes. "The principal told me around 9.50 am that my child had sustained injuries after falling from the swing. When I reached the school, I was told that my daughter had been taken to the hospital. There were injury marks all over his body, which is not possible in case he falls from the swing."

Ayodhya Deputy Inspector General of Police G Muniraj said, "The post-mortem shows that the injuries were caused by a fall from the building. The report states that the cause of death is shock and pre-death bleeding.

The student was taken to another hospital and died during treatment. "My crying daughter (at the hospital) told me that when she reached the school, the principal handed her over to two men, one of them a teacher. They then gang-raped her and to hide the crime, they threw her off the terrace."

"On Saturday afternoon, a case has been registered against the school principal, school manager and a sports teacher on charges of gangrape, murder, destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy against the school principal, school manager and a sports teacher on the complaint of the girl's family," Ayodhya Superintendent of Police (City) Madhuban Singh told PTI.
