President Ilham Əliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan inaugurated the "Square" Small Water Power Station in Kulgar district on May 27.

The EPA reports that the head of our state was informed of the work being done at the station.

It was reported that a small 3.4 MV water power plant on the Square River, the left-hand side of Tartarus, was fully reconstructed in the Kulgar region, in accordance with President Ilham Əliyev's mandate to accelerate the transition to alternative and renewable energy sources, to make good use of water supplies, and to transform the occupied territories into a green energy zone. Azerbaijan has rebuilt this station, which was burned by the Armenians and transported equipment, in a more modern and digital way. A new car hall has been built and modern hydraulics, generators, control, relay protection and automation panels have been installed. The headwater installation, which is 1590,4564 feet [<>,<> m] high, as well as a derivative pipe measuring <>,<> feet [<>,<> m] in length, has been fully reconstructed.

The Square Water Power Station has joined a centralized SCADA system that allows remote control by integrating energy. Thus, the station's control system has been automated and digitalized with special software. A 45-kVA-powered diesel generator has also been installed in the area. The reconstructed Square Small Water Power Station will generate 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year.

President Ilham Əliyev launched the "Square" Small Water Power Station.

It has been noted that 11 water power plants have been rebuilt by the ASC to date in areas liberated from the invasion. Currently, water stations are under construction in seven locations in Kulgar, Lachin, and Zealand. Construction of water stations in Kulgar and Lachin has also begun in nine more locations. Altogether, these reconstructed and near-future water power plants will have a combined capacity of about 7 MVt, resulting in an ecologically clean hydroelectric energy production of about 9 million kilowatt-hours.
